Hi I'm Shianna

I love dancing, music & being around family and friends. I am mormon! I want to travel the world and change someone's life!

About Me

Growing up in a small town I fell in love with camping and hunting at an early age. I love being outdoors and hanging out with familiy & friends. I have danced since I was 6 and plan on dancing for the rest of my life! I will be attending college after I serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love traveling and seeing new things, and of course going on adventures. Some day I hope to travel the world and spread my love for the gospel and life to everyone I meet! Music and art are my two best friends! Oh, and when I grow up I want to be a mom!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a small town where most of my friends and neighbors shared the same relgion as me. But when I was in 7th grade my life took a huge turn and I had to choose who it was that I wanted to be. Between moving from place to place and experiencing a lot of different people and beliefs I realized there was a whole other world out there that I hadn't experienced. Who I wanted to be was the most complicated question anyone could ask me. I started making unwise decisions and I experienced trials and pain that I never thought I would get through. Over time I lost sight of that person that I wanted to be and began to become the person I never imagined I would be. That whole other world that I thought looked interesting and happy was nothing but scary and lonely. So, at the beginning of my 10th grade year I began to go back to church and try to change the way I lived. It was hard to come to realize that the way I was living was taking away the spirit of Christ from my life. Over time and a HUGE change of heart I finally began to experience real joy. The joy that only comes from having a relationship with Christ and diving into a religion that is centered around charity and love. I can say now that I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, unchanging, full of hope, and can change lives. I am Mormon. I know it, I love it and I try everyday to live it.

How I live my faith

In church activities we always find a new way to do projects or serve different groups of people. The food bank, educationional programs, donating clothes and doing humanitarian boxes have all been memorable experiences. But my absolute favorite thing to do is go to the care center! Hearing stories and learning new things from the elderly is my favorite thing in the world! I have had the opportunity to dance for care centers and spread my love for art through performing. Normally, I try to share experiences or stories through the scriptures but at the end of the day I am always the one who learns and gains knowledge through the people I meet. I live my faith by showing how the church and art brings me joy, and enjoy listening along the way!

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Shianna
For me, it's like increasing knowledge or faith in anything else. I ponder, pray and trust him. I have something in my bedroom or car (wherever I am constantly) that reminds me of him and what he did for me. I trust that he loves me and then find a way to share that love with people I meet. I believe in him and rely on his atonement. "Faith is a seed, if planted it will grow." Show more Show less
