Hi I'm Mary Lavelua

I was born and raised in Auckland New Zealand. I am the first Sister Lavelua in my entire family. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished high school and I'm so excited to be serving my mission. I love playing sports. I play netball, rugby, and basketball. I have a passion for art. I find that through drawing and painting my mind is cleared and I can really relax. I love to try new things. I love meeting new people, and I don't like when people feel uncomfortable around me so I talk a lot to try to break the ice. I can be shy sometimes but I'm working on building my confidence. I love the gospel and I'm so blessed to be apart of it. It has definitely changed my life for the better.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the gospel so it was easy for me to just attend church programmes with my parents or my siblings. What I did find as I kept attending these church programmes was the joy and happiness it braught to not only my family but also to all the families that attended. I knew that in order to continue enjoying these blessings, I had to go to church and continue living the gospel. And for that I am truely grateful.

How I live my faith

I am a nanny. I love children. I love to cook for them and play games with them. I am currently a sunbeam teacher and I can tell you it does get challenging but I know if I prepare myself properly and with the right spirit, it turns out to be such a fun lesson. I like to play basketball with some of the youth girls in my neighbour hood.
