Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 8.I don't know a specific reason why I made the decision, but one thing is for sure I wanted to be baptized.During the year 2007 we have a temple trip activity where we as youth can participate in doing baptism for the dead.To join the activity we have to make accomplishments in our Duty to God pamphlet.Upon doing so I learned to teach and oraganize family home evenings, share with my parents about my learnings of the gospel and also to visit alone my co-young men and say that I love him and we miss him in the church.I also read everyday the strength for the youth pamphlet, this contains church standards, and applied every standard given,Upon doing so I learned to pray night and day, help more those who needed my help and even love my family even more.I also read the scriptures everyday. In the Duty to God pamphlet we are encouraged to ask God if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and if the Book of Mormon is true. One night after reading the Book of Mormon,I really asked my self if Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and if the Book of Mormon is true. So,I kneeled down and prayed in faith and sincerity to find answer.I did receive an aswer through the power of the Holy Ghost.I have a feeling of peace,a feeling of joy,a feeling that I can't understand and I even cried. Many nights have followed that I do cry and pleading with the Lord to forgive all my sins.I noticed a big change of my self.My love and concern for my family and other people expands even more deeper. When I commit mistake,I would deeply regret it and right away ask forgiveness. My patience and understanding towards men expands. My understanding of the gospel and life expands also.I crave for doing righteous things and craving also for the word of God.I testify with the power of the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and the Book of Mormon is true in the name of Jesus Christ.Amen.

How I live my faith

I study the scriptures night and day. I do pray every morning and evey night and also before taking every meal. I also pray in silent like when I ride a vehicle, in a crowd and etc. I do attend and participate church activities. At age 18 I called as Branch Young Men President. I organize activities both combined activities and young men alone, I learned organizing branch activities at that age. At age 20 I am called as Branch Clerk and that time I have two callings in our branch, YM President and Clerk. I handle records and reports both finances and memberships. At age 21, I served 4 callings at the same time, YM President, Clerk, Dist. YM Secretary and also Dist. Assistant Physical Facilities Representative. As, facilties representative I do building inspections both cleanliness and facility damages and also supplies. Later last year I was released as Dist. YM Secretary and served as Dist. YM first counselor

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Joel
Atonement of Jesus Christ was an act of infinite love.Through his atonement we can return to God's presence if we obey his commdments and live the gospel. Therefore, the atoning sacrafice of Jesus Christ provides us the hope of living once again with deep joy in our hearts. The atonement of Jesus Christ gives us the opportunity to be cleansed from our sins, if we will accept him in our lives and have faith in him and if we repent of our sins. His atonement gives us a more deeper reason to follow him. Show more Show less
