Hi I'm James Calhoun

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love sports, especially college football and basketball. Ohio State and BYU are my favorite teams, and I'll be attending BYU in a couple of years. I love learning and hope to study English and Political Science, then go into business. I played basketball, golf, and tennis in high school and loved each one. I love to read, especially fiction. I grew up in California and North Carolina and loved each one, but North Carolina is probably just a little bit better. There are few better feelings than getting up and getting out there. I love traveling, nature, and doing things outdoors, like kayaking, skiing, and mountain biking. I am currently serving a two year mission in Tokyo, Japan, and loving every second of it. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ knows and loves me individually and died so I can live with my family and my Heavenly Father for eternity. I have a testimony of Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and the restoration of the church because I have read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know that it is true. I'm a Mormon because of the amazing people in the church who I want to be like, because it makes me happy, and because I know I am a better, more fulfilled person by trying to follow Christ's example.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church weekly, reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon, praying, and most recently, being a missionary and telling the people of Japan about Jesus Christ and how He can bless their lives.
