Hi I'm Porter Vuyk

I was born in Salt lake city Utah and ended up moving to Cheyenne Wyoming. I am a Brother, a Son, a Missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a high school grad and love being outdoors. I enjoy hunting, hiking, swimming, polar bear plunging, reading, writing poems and stories, I'm an amateur mechanic, if I don't know how to fix it I'll try and figure it out. I have 6 younger siblings, 5 brothers and 1 sister ranging in ages from 6 to 16. I've been a member my whole life. I participated in the East High school AFJROTC program for 4 years, I am an amateur woodworker, and metal worker. I have earned the rank of Eagle in the BSA. I am currently serving as a full time Missionary in the Washington Federal Way Mission for the church, and I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. I want to share my love of the gospel with everyone that will listen to me. I am a Mormon because i know that this is the true church of god once again restored to this earth for us in these latter days. we are here for a purpose, what they may be only god knows, but i have an idea that my purpose is to share this Wonderful Gospel with every one I meet, and I plan on doing it to!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in the Washington Federal Way Mission, and I am loving being here. the joys of the gospel have been evident in my life from the time i was little. My life has greatly been blessed by heeding the words of living prophets and obeying the commandments of God. I am in no way perfect, but despite all my shortcomings and weaknesses i know that whatever i lack the lord will make up as i strive to do as he has asked us to do. At times it is hard not to give into temptations to simply slack off, but those temptations are there to make me better and help me grow.
