Hi I'm Skyler Timmins

I'm from Alamosa, Colorado, I served as a missionary in the OregonSalemMission,I'm a baseball player, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a baseball player! My whole life has involved a borderline obsession with America's pastime. I have always loved the simple thrill of playing that game, and through the game of baseball it's always brought my family closer together. I am also a fan of writing, as it allows a creative aspect that many do not get to experience anymore. I enjoy watching movies, playing video games, and other recreational activities. I also valued my education, as I did my very best to do well and graduate high school with high honors among my peers. I also enjoy very much so the joy of making others laugh, because laughter can brighten up this world no matter what. I put everything on hold and am now serving in the Oregon Salem Mission for the next 2 years!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My parents raised me, teaching me the values and concepts of the gospel. At 8 years old I chose to be baptized and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. Through my life I always understood a simple truth in my heart that the Church was true, I never had really given it much thought and I didn't doubt it at all. It all just made sense. Though as the years went by I felt that the world was growing increasingly evil, Satan was doing his best to try and get me to fall, I could feel it and it was heavy on my shoulders. As the time came for me to decide what to do after High School, I prayed fervently and earnestly to my Heavenly Father to help me know what to do. Through a series of events and lots of prayer, I finally knew what to do. It solidified a truth I knew in my heart that the Lord is always watching over us, He hears and answers our prayers, and no matter what, loves us dearly. I follow the His gospel because it just makes sense. It has the wonderful values that many people in this world are lacking, because it encourages us to be good, loving people, and be the best that we can be. I know this Church is true, and I know that The Book of Mormon is true and was translated by a Prophet of God in Joseph Smith. This gospel and this church have led me to where I am today and as a result I eagerly await my chance serve a mission and find those that are seeking the joy that I know in His gospel.

How I live my faith

I regularly attend my church meetings every Sunday and other activities during the week. I often have the chance to teach lessons to the Youth. Quite often there are service projects to help the elderly in the ward, or just those that stand in need of something. I am also a Ward Missionary and assist the Full Time Missionaries in their duties and work as needed.
