Hi I'm Kyra

I grew up in a small town called Plymouth. I am an artist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So growing up in a small town you have to figure out your hobbies fast to stay entertained. I quickly learned that I had the ability to draw and paint. With encouraging parents I was able to accomplish many things with that particular talents, winning a few big time awards were some of them. I found I love reading fantasy books, occasionally scrap booking, and love messing around in Photoshop to see what I can create. I'm the oldest sister to two younger sisters. One of my sisters molded me into the variety music listener I am today. I listen to anything from country, modern day hits, and even some Frank Sinatra and The Temptations. I graduated high school not too long ago I went off to college and received my associates degree. And I am now planning on taking a long trip to the other side of the states and living there for a while.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for one simple fact, that I know this is Heavenly Father's true church; The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Through this true and everlasting gospel I have come to know that God truly loves me, and knows me by name. I know the things that are taught in this church are true, and that what is taught is pure and righteous. I find that it goes against what the world wants me to believe and do, and it brings me happiness and joy. This doesn't mean I have never sinned or have never had a bad day. But this true and everlasting gospel has given me a way of repenting of those sins and returning back to my Heavenly Father. I know that Jesus Christ gave His life for me - so that I could repent of my sins and have eternal life. I strive to do my best everyday, but if I happen to make a mistake, I know I can repent of it - and keep trying to do my very best. I know that Heavenly Father has restored this gospel so that we can all return and live with our Heavenly Father and our families for all eternity. I know that those who have passed on are always watching, protecting and guiding us. I know that Joseph Smith was/is a true Prophet of God and that he restored the gospel back on this earth. I know that our living Prophet today, Thomas S. Monson is a true Prophet of God and receives revelation to lead and guide us through the turmoils of the life. And I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that the words written upon them are true and honest.

How I live my faith

I have been given many things to do with my ward, and been doing service since I was the age of 12. I found myself being a secretary for a small group of 12 year-old's and helped the president of this group organize a few things with the older leaders. And I was a secretary up to the age of 16 - then my role turned into being the president of the older high school kids. I had to set up meetings with leaders and discuss what activities and service projects we could do combined for the ages 12 to 18. The young girls in the ward, involving myself as well. Would often go to an elderly home and help them with cleaning their yards, or windows, or any project/cleaning they needed help with. We found ourselves helping an elderly woman weed her garden, and also raked piles and piles of leaves at a few other elderly homes. And along with those kinds of projects we often times went and adopted a highway and cleaning out the trash that people littered on the ground. Later in my life I found myself in the singles ward in college and received a few callings there. I went from organizing the people who would pair up and go visiting teaching to those who were active and inactive in our ward. Then I was called to help the activities comity come up with fun activities and dinners for the young single adults - and they all came out a success.
