Hi I'm Ashley

I was born and raised in Utah, in a small town called Vernal. I am married and working as a Kindergarten teacher.

About Me

After high school I attended college and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. After teaching first grade for one year, I met my husband. We were married and moved so that he could get a degree. I currently teach kindergarten and my husband is going to school to be a Mechanical Engineer. We do not have any kids yet.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the gospel. My grandparents, parents, and siblings are all member of the church. Religion is a big part of our family and the things that we do. When I was little I attending church mostly for those reasons. However the older I got I realized that I needed to decide for myself if I was committed to being an active member of the church. I read the Book of Mormon several times and came to realize that this religion made sense to me. I didn't have some big amazing moment where I knew it was all true. I knew it was true and I always had. I love being LDS. This religion gives me so much peace. I know that I will be married to my husband forever and that we will be with our children forever. I know that I will be with my family forever. I know that we have a Heavenly Father and that he loves us and created us and gave us bodies and sent us to earth so that we could progress and become like him. I know that someday I will be with him again. I know that Jesus came to this earth to teach and atone for the sins of everyone. He died for me and for everyone so that we could be with God again. He is my brother and my savior. I know that the power of the priesthood is real, I have seen it in my life and felt its power. I know that the things written in the Book of Mormon is true. I know that with prayer we can talk to God. I know that he will answer, not always in the ways we expect but he does answer. I love this religion it is so much a part of who I am. It helps me make it through all the tough moments and days in life. I don't know where I would be with out it.

How I live my faith

My faith is involved in my every day life. I work with the children in our ward as a teacher. We learn songs that teach the children about our gospel as well. I also visit once a month with several sisters in our ward. We get together and visit about things in our faith. One monday a month my husband and I meet with several other couples in our faith. We start with prayer and then have a lesson relating to our religion. After that we play games and have a treat.
