Hi I'm Janie Thompson

I grew up in Eagle, ID. I love basketball and am attending BYU-Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a freshmen attending BYU-Idaho in Rexburg. I grew up doing all different activities and hobbies. My favorite thing to do is play basketball. My whole family and I grew up watching and playing basketball. I still continue to play and love the sport. I am the youngest of 5. There are 3 boys and 2 girls. They are all happily married in the temple. I have 2 nieces and 2 nephews with 2 new niece or nephews on the way. My family is everything to me, they are my best friends and i love them so much!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. Feeling peace and comfort from my Lord and Savior is an amazing thing. I know that reading the Book of Mormon along with praying sincerely to my Heavenly Father blesses my life. I have been given so many chances, blessings and opportunities in my lifetime because of my Heavenly Father. This gospel is true and it will make you so happy.

How I live my faith

My calling in my new ward in Rexburg is the ward indexer. I know that indexing is the right thing to do and will bless your life. I attend all my meetings and very frequently. I love going to church and participating in all the activities we do outside of church as well. In church, one young man says a sacrament prayer before we partake of bread and water. If they are not exact, then the young man has to redo the prayer to get it perfect. They mess up all the time and that is okay. You won't be ridiculed if you mess up, you just simply try again. This is like sinning and repentance, if we mess up we can try again. The Lord will forgive us and we can forgive ourselves. I live my faith, knowing if I sin that the Lord will not be mad, he will forgive me if I repent.
