Hi I'm Emily

I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a professional swimmer. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in North Las Vegas, Nevada. I moved there from Utah when I was 3 years old. I grew up loving to swim professionally. Swimming became my life during high school. I switched schools around a lot, but wherever I went I was always on a team. I graduated from high school and went to BYU-I where I also joined the swim team. I began coaching for their team also and found my love for coaching. I have 4 siblings. One in California, one in Idaho, and two in Las Vegas. I also love singing, talking to people and trying new things! I also love me some good food. (:

Why I am a Mormon

Like I said, I grew up in the Church, but I have not always believed in all the restrictions and laws that have gone with it. I didn't want to be a member when I was growing up. I thought, at times, it was too hard, and all my friends were making fun of me because I was a Mormon. I didn't exactly care about reading the scriptures or going to church. It was more of a pain than it did good. When i was around 13, my mom sent me to EFY (Especially for Youth). It was a program organized by the church for teenagers to go and gain a better understand of the LDS church and to gain a testimony of Jesus Christ. I certainly wasn't too ecstatic about the whole thing, but I went to make my parents happy and I ended up having a blast. They had classes there that taught about the principles of the gospel and I enjoyed every one of them! They taught me so much about my Savior and how I could be a better person. I felt something inside me that was unfamiliar, but I felt happy. I felt the spirit. I felt the Holy Ghost. After that week, I decided to read my scriptures and maybe one day go on a mission. Here I am now 6 years later, a happy Mormon and called to serve a mission. I am so glad I have decided to be apart of this church and to feel my Saviors love for me.

How I live my faith

I was grown in the church and have always known about it. I have participated in many organizations produced by the church such as Zion's Youth, Missionary Preparation, EFY (Especially for Youth), and more! I have done service projects for the church also, and have just been called to serve a mission.
