Hi I'm Alise

I grew up in Bavaria, Germany. I was born in Hawaii. I love playing soccer and guitar. I´m a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Hawaii, but grew up in Bavaria, Germany. The german food and the mountains are amazing and if it snows I go snowboarding with my family. I´m the oldest in my family. I have two sisters and one brother. My parents are both Mormon so I grew up in the church. Our family is international since my mom is american and my dad is german. Living in Europe has many benefits. One of which is traveling to different countries and learning about their cultures. Four wheel driving with my cousins and target practice with my grandpa are things I love to do when I go to the States. Playing soccer has always been one of my passions as well as playing guitar. Serving in the England Manchester Mission in 2015 is going to be the next high light in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I know I can´t make it through this earthly life alone. I need help. I know that I´m a daughter of my Heavenly Father. He loves me and cares for me. He has a plan for me. If I let Him, he will guide me through my life and I know I can always turn to Him if I have questions. It doesn´t mean that I will have a perfect life with out any problems. It just means that Heavenly Father will always be by my side and help me find the best solution. The best way to keep in touch with Him is through prayer. That is why personal prayer is so powerful. Just like my earthly father, my Heavenly Father wants to know how my day was, what made me sad or what my wishes and dreams are. I know with all my heart that I´m a daughter of God. I know that He only wants the best for me. As individuals we are strong, but with God we are unstoppable. (Sister Rosemary M. Wixom)

How I live my faith

Here in Germany there are not a lot of of Mormons. I am used to being the only Mormon where ever I go. I had to decide early on in my life if I would serve God or not. I never regreted the decision to serve God. Through my actions I realise how I affect others positively. I know that being a good example is worth more than just saying that I am a Mormon. Through my actions I show how much I love the Lord and how much He means to me. The Book of Mormon is a guideline in my life. That´s why I volunteer to teach early morning scripture study to the youth in my church. Yes, it is hard to get up at 5:30 am, but the blessings I get from serving the Lord are much greater than the sacrifice I make. I probably learn more now as a teacher than I did when I was a student. I really learned how valuable the Book of Mormon is and how important it is to read in it daily. This book testifies of Jesus Christ and shows me how I can become like him.
