Hi I'm Harrison

I'm 18 years old. I love anything outdoors. I'm preparing to serve a Spanish speaking mission in Baltimore Maryland. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in the Pacific Northwest and I love it here. I like to go camping and hiking. I always try to take advantage of any opportunities to experience new things and have fun. I've loved bungee jumping and backpacking and dream of skydiving when I get off my mission. I also enjoy just hanging out and watching movies with friends and family. I absolutely love people who think I'm funny, and I love to laugh :) I've been accepted to BYU Idaho and am excited to attend. I have great parents and I am the oldest of five kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, however everybody needs to be converted. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints is more than a lifestyle. It's having an attitude of gratitude and of faith and hope in our Savior and in our Father's plan for us. It's trying to emulate the way Jesus lived , and live by His teachings. I have had my doubts and questions at times. It was hard sometimes to really know for myself, but through prayer and fasting and experimenting on the words of Christ I know that this gospel is true. I know that this church is true. I know that we have a prophet who communicates directly with God. And through that prophet, Heavenly Father leads and guides His church. I know that His plan is a perfect plan, a plan of comfort and happiness. I love being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Over the last several years I have been a home teacher with my Dad. We go and visit people in our ward and give them spiritual thoughts and show friendship and love to them. As a home teacher I have had many opportunities to serve and love others. Being a home teacher is one of the first real ways I have tried to demonstrate my faith and develop Christ-like attributes. I also teach gospel essentials class on Sundays. Preparing to teach new members and investigators has really strengthened my testimony of the gospel. It has also made me really excited to serve my mission and teach others. I think the most significant way I am living my faith is by setting aside my wants and desires to serve the Lord with a happy and willing heart on a full time mission. I know that having a willing heart and always putting God's will first throughout my life will bring true blessings and happiness.
