Hi I'm Doug

I am a small town cowboy who loves all sports. I have coached a variety of sports throughout my life andI am a Mormon.

About Me

Rodeo and sports were my passion growing up. I played every sport that was available and excelled in all. I am a father of five boys and one girl and followed my passion of sports by coaching their athletic endeavors. I worked in sales and management and upon retirement, took up golf which is now my source of recreation. I enjoy visiting and being with my children and fourteen grandchildren. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I had a personal spiritual experience where I learned of the reality of God and that he was watching over me. That experience confirmed that I should continue my path in the LDS Church and that I needed to serve more diligently. I have learned that everything about the Gospel of Jesus Christ practicality speaking leads to happiness and growth. It is such a wonderful framework to raise children. It is a great thing knowing your Heavenly Father loves you and is looking after you and your family.

How I live my faith

For forty years I have coached basketball, volleyball, softball and track. I was the ward sports director for 20 plus years and recently the region sports director where I supervised eight stakes putting on tournaments and encouraging parental support and sportsmanship. I have loved working with the youth in various callings and enjoy their enthusiasm, and idealism. Something I feel proud of is assisting about 50 boys attain the rank of Eagle Scout as Assistant Scout Leader and Scout Leader.
