Hi I'm Jens Nelson

I grew currently live in Florida where I work as a dentist for the Air Force. I love spending time with my wife and laughing

About Me

I love playing sports and doing athletic things though I don't get enough time to do them. I'm kind of a nerd and like science based things...which works well for my job as I am super nerdy when it comes to dentistry. I get excited about silly dental things...just ask my wife. I served a mission for the church in Italy, and absolutely LOVE anything Italian. I miss that beautiful country so much. I went to BYU for my undergrad and then UNLV for dental school. I've recently discovered I'm a homebody and somewhat of an introvert, but once I get to know people I'm not shy. Overall life is awesome and I'm looking forward to the day when I can be a father.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I'm a Mormon is simple. I have prayed and asked my Father in Heaven if this is His church on the earth, and if the Book of Mormon, the Bible and other scriptures truly are His word. In response to these many prayers I have received an answer that it is. This answer wasn't some grand or glorious vision, but a peaceful feeling. The best way I can describe it is the peaceful feeling/comfort you get when you think about Jesus Christ as your Lord, Savior, and Redeemer from sin. This small peaceful confirmation is why I'm a Mormon. I also am Mormon because this church helps me learn more about Jesus Christ and become more like Him. I am so very grateful for Jesus Christ and HIs atoning sacrifice. Because of Him, and ONLY through Him can we have eternal life, and return to live with God again. He is the most important aspect of my faith and religion. I am thankful for living prophets and apostles who receive revelation from God to guide and direct us and counsel us for todays problems so we can more fully come to Christ. I'm a Mormon because without the teachings of this Church and the ordinances I wouldn't be able to return to live with God again or be with my family for eternity after this life.

How I live my faith

First and foremost I try to emulate my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is of course the focus of the church, after all the name of the church is "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints". Without him peace, happiness, and joy would not be attainable. Participating in service opportunities is always something that brings me happiness. I like many have to remind myself to find balance in my life and make time for these sorts of worthwhile activities. The assignment that I have in my church is to help lead and teach about half of the men in our congregation. That can be daunting considering most of the men are a little older and have more life experience than I do. I am able to teach lessons at church and learn from these wonderful guys and I do enjoy that.
