Hi I'm Alexis

I grew up in Idaho. I love to run, read, and design. I am preparing to serve in mission in Barcelona, Spain. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Idaho and love everything about it. I love to play sports and especially love to run. In high school I was involved in a range of activities from running track and cross country to playing trombone in the band and designing and building sets for the school plays. I am a communications major with an emphasis in Visual Media.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of my Savior Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Redeemer. I was raised in the church and I grew up loving to go to church, hearing scripture stories, and singing hymns. However, like any teenager, as I started learning more about things outside of what I grew up with I had to start asking questions and seeking answers for myself. I have read the Book of Mormon several times. As I have read, my childhood faith has grown and strengthened and become my anchor in life that holds me fast among the whirling influences of the world. (Ether 6:6-7, Corinthians 4:8-9) I am a Mormon because I choose to be. Nothing has ever given me more joy than when I live the gospel and serve others. The gospel is hope, and joy, and peace, and true happiness. It has given me purpose by teaching me my true purpose as a daughter of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be a better daughter, sister, neighbor, and Christian every day. For me living my faith is doing the little things each day such as reading my scriptures, praying, serving, and being kind. My faith is not something that I just pick up on Sundays but something that I carry with me always. I pray about decisions I have to make such as which school to attend or ever just how to spend my time that day. In the different callings I have had in the church I try my best to fulfill them by preparing myself and thinking about those I need to serve throughout the week. I have felt the need to serve a mission and have since been called to serve in the Spain Barcelona Mission for 18 months. I am excited for this opportunity to spread the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and to bear my testimony of Him. I am never happier than when I am striving, with the Lord's Atonement, to live the commandments and the teachings of modern day prophets.
