Hi I'm Kevin Wideman

I'm a native Texan. I love Music, Ultimate Frisbee, Disc Golf, and the Outdoors. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Texas and am working on getting a degree in Electrical Engineering. I love everything outdoors, but especially places with waterfalls or lakes. I'm a big fan of playing soccer, ultimate frisbee, and disc golf.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Mormon church, but like every person who grew up in the church there came a point when I couldn't rely on the testimony of my parents. I had to know for myself. I was having many struggles with what was right and if I was on the path the Lord wanted for me. I had always been taught that this was the "True Church", but at the age of 16 I reached a critical point in my life where I had to make a choice. I remembered a promise in The Book of Mormon in the book of Moroni chapter 10 verse 4. It says, "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." I read The Book of Mormon and prayed and received my answer and have received many answers since that experience. I know that our Heavenly Father hears our prayers and knows each of us individually. I know that if he could answer a young 16 year old like myself that he can answer anyone. I know that my savior Jesus Christ stands at the head of this church and has called a living Prophet and 12 Apostles to guide us back to him. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of god along with the Bible. And above all because of the Holy Spirit I know that this is the restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth and that he has prepared a plan for all of us to return to live with God if we would only come unto him. This is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in southern Chile. Other than serving as a missionary I try to give of myself anytime someone is in need. I learned several skills like plumbing, electrical, roofing, framing, computer repair, and much more. I find that I am always happiest and closer to Jesus Christ when I serve those around me. I try to think what our savior would do if he were here and then do it.

What is being a Mormon like?

Kevin Wideman
Being Mormon is amazing! I constantly look around and see my friends doing things that they think will bring them happiness, but they are always left wanting. They are never fully satisfied. So many of my friends look at the Mormon church as a list of things they can't do, but its quite the opposite and I know that I am blessed because of it. God wants us to have true Joy and the way we can have that is by following his gospel. I live free to make my own choices and free from guilt knowing that I am doing the best I can do and that is all God requires of me. Show more Show less
