Hi I'm Nikita

I'm a daughter, dancer, sister, student, and a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints,so yes, I'm a mormon

About Me

I grew up in Alaska with my family of 11! Yes, it was amazing! I love being with my siblings and watching them grow. I love being a sister, I can't remember how many times a brother or sister would just come sit on my bed and we would talk. Sometimes, with just one, but usually more would join. I loved growing up in such a close, loving family, and in such a beautiful place! I was able to live my dream when I went to college at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. But I left all of that, so that I could serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I know that it is true. I cannot deny it, and I will not. I love it! This gospel has really helped me, and I wouldn't be where I am or who I am without it. Everyone hits hard times, and for me I couldn't find a way out. It came to the point where I had nothing to turn to but God. I had to find out for myself if He really was there and if the church I had been raised in was actually true. I am happy to say that God did answer me. He just let me know that He was there, that He loved me very much and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one and true church on the earth. A witness of other parts of the gospel came latter. And I can say, with a knowledge for myself, that I know that this is God's church, and that there are prophets again in our day. Joseph Smith was the first in our time, and President Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today. I know that God is our Heavenly Father, He knows and loves you. He cares so much about us, He hears every prayer and knows every pain that we go through. Jesus Christ is our Savior, and because of Him we can return to live with God again. I know that The Book of Mormon is true. And I know that my Savior lives!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in my everyday acts. I am trying to be like the Savior, Jesus Christ, and I try to live in such a way that when others see me, they see Him instead. I love volunteering in service projects. In Alaska it was not uncommon to help anyone in the community shovel snow out of their driveways and cut and stack wood for the winter. Here in Hawaii I had the opportunity of going to a 'Heiau', a sacred site to the Hawaiian's. I was able to give time and service as we maintained and beautified the land. It may have been for another religion, but the love and gratitude seen in their faces was the same. We are all children of our Heavenly Father and we are important to Him. It pleases Him when we help each other.
