Hi I'm Jessica Sudweeks

I am a college student majoring in Early Childhood Education. I love swimming, traveling, reading, and baking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of four daughters and I have an English Bulldog named Lola. I am close to my immediate and extended family, and can be found spending most of my time with them. Some of my hobbies include swimming, shopping, travelling, crafting, baking, and reading. I swam competitively for three years and I also swam on my high school swim team for your years. I currently attend college and am majoring in Early Childhood Education. I love to be with children and I enjoy teaching them. I worked as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor and taught people of all ages, which helped me develop my love of teaching.I love to travel and see different parts of this beautiful world that Heavenly Father created. I like things neat and tidy and I enjoy organizing and cleaning. I am a happy person with a positive outlook on life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this is Jesus Christ's gospel restored on the earth. I have gained my own testimony over the past few years through reading the Book of Mormon, praying, attending seminary and church, and through living gospel principles. I know that Heavenly Father loves and knows each of us, His children, individually. He has a plan for us that if we choose to follow, will bring us more happiness in this life and in the next than we can ever imagine. I know that the power of the Atonement is real, both the enabling and the cleansing power. And when we do our part, Heavenly Father makes up the rest. This knowledge has helped me to overcome very hard things in my life, including the loss of loved ones and other scary, hard, and upsetting experiences. I am grateful that I can pray to my Heavenly Father, and my day goes so much better when I do so. I know that my family is eternal and I am grateful for this comforting knowledge. I know the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith translated it, and that we can grow closer to God through reading it. And I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the earth today. I am a Mormon because I have gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel and I know that because of it, I will be able to live with my family and my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily through studying the scriptures, praying, and sharing the gospel with others. I also go to my church meetings every week and I hold a calling. I teach Sunday school, so I prepare to teach gospel doctrines and principles to other people my age. I participate in visiting teaching, in which I visit a sister in my ward, each month. One of the biggest ways I live my faith is through preparing to serve a mission. I study the scriptures, read the words of modern prophets and apostles, practice teaching the gospel, and try to live my life in accordance with missionary standards more than I ever have.
