Hi I'm Kaitlin Cheever

I'm from Sandy, UT. I play the flute. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of three children. I grew up in Sandy, UT. I grew up going camping with my family every summer. I really love spending time with my family and friends. I am currently going to school at Brigham Young University-Idaho. When I graduate I would like to be a high school foods teacher. I will be serving a full time mission in the Argentina Buenos Aires West Mission. I will enter the MTC on December 30, 2015. My free time is spent reading, cooking, playing my flute, and having adventures with my roommates.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but why have I stuck with it? I have stayed true to the teachings of The Church throughout my life because of the love, the joy, and the peace it brings into my heart and the lives of those around me. Being a Mormon may not be the easiest or the most socially accepted thing to do, but it's what I need in my life. THere have been many hard times in my life, but I have come out strong. This has been because of my faith in the Lord and my reliance on Him. Without this gospel, I would not be who I am today and for that, I am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. I believe that service is one of the greatest ways to show our love to both those we are serving and to the Lord. It doesn't even necessarily have to be something big that we do. I believe that it is the small, everyday things we do just by reaching out and being a friend for a person in need that often makes the biggest difference. A big way I will be serving is my mission. Starting at the end of December 2015 I will be dedicating the next 18 months of my life to the Lord and to His work. I will go to a place I've never been, be surrounded by people I've never met, and teach people who have a completely different culture and lifestyle than me. Why will I be doing this? Because I love the Lord. I love Him and I, even now before I've even gone, love the people of Argentina and I want them to have in their lives the joy the gospel has brought me.
