Hi I'm Kelsey Kocherhans

I live in Utah. I have a huge family! I love to read, I love to dance, I am an artist, I am a singer, and I am a mormon.

About Me

I have a huge family! I have five half siblings and five full blood siblings. Yep, that's 11 of us! I can't imagine life without them! I have a passion for the arts. Music feeds my soul! I have performed in many musicals, I was in orchestra throughout grade school, I absolutely love singing, and I just love listening to music in general! Art is another thing that is so important to me. I love drawing and painting with different mediums. I was able to learn that from my mom and taking some classes in high school but it's always been a part of me. I know that God has blessed me so much in that area. Reading is one of my all time favorite things to do. And then I love to talk about what I read with my family and friends! I love the late night conversations I've had just about books or movies. I grew up dancing, and while my body doesn't seem to want to keep up, and I've had a few different injuries, it will always be something I love to do. Even if it ends up just being my siblings and I dancing around in the kitchen!

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. I have always believed that what I've learned is true but there also came a time when I had to really search, study, act on what I had learned, and pray to know if this church is true. And now I have discovered for myself that it is true! I was able to feel that it is true through the power of the Holy Ghost. Through being a mormon I have discovered how much my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ love me. The more I keep the commandments of our Heavenly Father the more I see him bless me in my life.

How I live my faith

I was grateful for the chance to lead the music during sacrament meeting in my singles ward this past year. It was a little frightening at first to stand up in front of everyone each week, but I gained an even stronger appreciation for the beautiful hymns! This past summer I had the amazing opportunity to work at an LDS girls camp. It was such a great experience! We were able to teach about the gospel while having a blast dancing, singing, shooting pellet guns, hiking, sliding on the foam slide, and the list goes on and on! The Gospel should be something that makes us happy. I know it makes me happy! And I love to share it with others. I am currently serving as a missionary, and I know the Lord is with me every step of the way! Though it can be hard at times, I love sharing the wonderful message of the Gospel with others and helping them find the happiness that I have been able to find through this Gospel and the knowledge of what my Savior did for me. When I know things such as, my family can be together forever, it gives me so much hope, that no matter what happens in life, I don't have to worry. My family is so important to me and I am so grateful to know that I can be with them forever!
