Hi I'm Larry

I am a son of a coal miner. I did not have the church in my life growing up. Later I was taught the gospel by friends and family.

About Me

Retired educator.Father of six children, twenty six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, with more greats to come in the future. I have a bright orange Kubota tractor that I love and enjoy rota-tilling gardens for people. Camping and fishing in Montana on the Madison River with all my family has got to be at the top of the list. Watching college football with my sons and daughter is always a highlight in my life. Just hanging out and being with my wife is awesome, she is my life !!!

Why I am a Mormon

My pioneer ancestors have given me much to ponder...heart breaking stories of courage, sacrifice, and persecution. My great grandmother Genevia Molan Ross was one of these remarkable pioneer women. Being quite young when she emigrated west with Jedidiah Grant's company, leaving Hancock County, Illinois the year of 1847. Traveling in the wagon train with her mother, father, sisters and brothers. Not far into the trek, her sister just older than my great grand mother got run over and killed by one of the drawn wagons in the company. Lumber could not be obtained so a hog trough was found and cleaned, she was buried in it some where along the way. When food was scarce and GGma was terribly hungry, she ate Sego Lily roots and thistles. Grandmother said,"I remember going with my brother and sister to drive the crickets from the grain fields, but through the mercy of the Lord, sent the seagulls to destroy the pests." Her mother and father died after arriving in the great Salt Lake Valley. It is this reason, her life, that I've got to live up to her legacy and be faithful and true to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that the Savior lives. I know that He is my Savoir and Redeemer. I love Him with all my heart. This knowledge has consoled me in difficult times. It has given me understanding of the purpose of my life. I know that He gave me his life and died for me. Through Him we will have the opportunity to return to the presence of our Father in Heaven. This is my testimony. I share it gratefully and humbly, giving praise to my Lord Jesus Christ amen.l

How I live my faith

I help with service projects for the older single adults in our ward. At the present time we are building a three bedroom home for a non-member single adult older woman in our community. Her existing home is all but in ruins and needs to be torn down. She is so thrilled and can't believe that people would do that for her. She is so sweet and so humble appreciating every minute we spend there. Hopefully she will be moving in the latter part of next month. It's going to be exciting for all of us !!! Another little endeavor we are doing for an older single male adult is a wood project. Cutting, splitting, and stacking logs for the winter. He is pushing 95 years old and needs a little help. We are more than happy to accommodate him.
