Hi I'm Tony

I am one of those boring Mormons, I was born and raised in the State of Utah. I can trace all of my ancestors in Utah by 1865.

About Me

As I mentioned, I was born in Utah, so I am one of the boring members of the Church. I did serve a mission to the best mission in the World, Argentina Rosario. I have worked in several occupations, I have been an emergency dispatcher, Realtor and other vocations. I love sports, baseball in particular, I also like to write, although I don't have anything published in the mainstream book world. I have an e-book which is available on amazon. I am married to the most beautiful and wonderful woman in the World. I will admit to some bias in my wife and my mission, but I understand that everyone else will feel the same way about those things and I am okay with it. We have bounced around since we have been married, we lived in the Central Valley of California, Southern Nevada, and various places in both Southern and Northern Utah. I have an amazing brother and two wonderful sisters, as well as some amazing and wonderful brothers and sisters in law. I am an adult orphan, both of my parents have passed away. My wife and I are somewhat unique in the Church in that we have not been blessed with children. It is sometimes a difficult thing, but we have faith that our Heavenly Father loves us, and hope to be blessed at some point in the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I have looked back on my life and wondered when was it that I knew that the Church was true. To be honest, I can't remember ever not believing that the Church was the true and living Church of Jesus Christ. There have been times when I have thought that I didn't need to live it's teachings and precepts, but I have never doubted that the Church was true. There have been some members of the congregation who have been skeptical when I have said that I have always known the Church was true, but it is a fact. I have never really doubted that a young boy went into the woods to pray and received one of the greatest visions in the history of the Earth. The Book of Mormon is the word of God, therefore, that young boy, Joseph Smith was and is one of his prophets. To me, it really is that simple. There have been times when I have not lived according the standards that I have learned, but the knowledge that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer combined with the knowledge that he loves us and has provided a way that we may live with him forever have always been the anchors in my soul which keeps me from going too far adrift. To illustrate why I have had those beliefs, in the Book of Mormon there is a scripture in Alma which has always been one that I draw strength from. The prophet Alma is talking to someone denying that there is a God and that there is no proof of God "But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The scriptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness that there is a Supreme Creator." Alma 30:34 This sums up why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had many wonderful opportunities to serve, I am currently an instructor in the Priesthood. This is honestly one of my favorite callings, I learn so much when I am preparing the lessons. I only hope the rest of the class learns as much as I have. I have also been on the Activity Committee, which is a lot of fun to be involved with. In the past I have worked with scouting and been an instructor for the youth of the Church. Serving others is such a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow. One of the great blessings of being a member of this Church is that there are so many wonderful and divers ways to serve one another.
