Hi I'm Savanna

I love politics, riding motorcycles, and being with my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I attend Brigham Young University, but I'm currently taking a hiatus to serve the Lord and the people of Alabama on an LDS mission. I enjoy being rock-climbing, dirt-biking, reading, cooking, speaking Spanish, and spending time with my younger siblings.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised as a member of the church, I found that I needed to know for myself if this Gospel contained the true doctrines of Christ. I found what it feels like to live without the Spirit and I didn't want that. The feeling of peace that being an active member of His church brings is invaluable. I know that prayers are answered and Heavenly Father loves his children. Life is not easy, but Christ suffered and gave the greatest sacrifice so that our burdens may be lifted and we can be comforted. I know what it's like to have doubts and questions, but if we turn to the Lord we will receive spiritual and doctrinal answers. The restored church is centered on Christ and his love, and I believe with all my heart that if we follow Him we can live with him again.

How I live my faith

I serve in church callings and read the scriptures daily. I love to go to activities and spend time getting to know the people in the congregation.

Is it true that Jesus appeared in North America after his crucifixion and resurrection according to the Book of Mormon?

When Christ was living and teaching in the middle east, he spoke of "other sheep" which were "not of this fold". Some of those other sheep were in the Americas. It makes sense to me that Christ would not limit teaching his Gospel to only a select few. I know the Book of Mormon is a record of his teachings; before, during and after he came to the people here in the Americas. Show more Show less
