Hi I'm Angela

I grew up in California. I love to sing. I love plants. I love my husband. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying horticulture and my husband and I manage women's university housing. I love to spend time outside with my husband, and I love to play with gardening and plants. One thing I find very fulfilling about growing a garden is seeing the fruits of my labors. I love to spend time with family and to learn new skills, and I really want to learn how to sing. I sing around the house and I have a deep love for sacred music. I grew up in California but I dream of living somewhere with more greenery someday. I love my family to pieces!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an active LDS household, but I had to choose for myself if I was going to keep going to church and keep the traditions my parents established in my home growing up. I remember pondering when I was in high school about my feelings about being Mormon. It wasn't a one-time thing; I thought about it a lot because I didn't do the same things as a lot of kids did in my California high school. Whenever I thought about it though, I almost always felt a sweet reassurance and peace that God loved me and had a great life in store for me. I still feel that way when I think about being Mormon, and I feel like I have something to work towards. I am Mormon because it brings peace to my soul and direction to my life.

How I live my faith

At church I teach children's songs to a small group of 1 1/2 to 3-year olds. Some songs are fun and others are more quiet and teach about sacred subjects. I love the children, the music, and the time I spend with them. They are so sweet and have so much energy and love for activity. They brighten my day and I look forward to the few minutes I get to sing with them every Sunday. There is a song that I learned as a child that says, "I'm trying to be like Jesus; I'm following in his ways. I'm trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say." Living like Jesus did, and really trying to adopt His attributes is how I live my faith. It is an everyday thing, an everyday push to remember Jesus and try to live like Him. I keep trying, even when I make mistakes.
