Hi I'm John

Hi, I am John. I love baseball, music, my family, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love baseball. I have played both college and professional baseball and have coached at the high school and college level. I have lived all over the United States and have also traveled to Aruba. I have a Bachelors Degree in Fitness Management. I am a Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my church and have chosen to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me of the gospels truthfulness and of the sacrifices that Christ made for us to give us the gift of the Atonement. My greatest love of the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is that we are taught about the importance of families and the knowledge that we have that we can spend eternity with them. My family is important to me and I love them very much. The knowledge that I have that I can continue to live with them forever brings a great amount of comfort to me that as long as I keep the covenants that I have made with Heavenly Father that I will never have to live without them. I also love the peace that I feel from the Holy Ghost. It is a great comfort to have the Holy Ghost when I am facing a personal challenge and He is helping to guide me and show me that as long as I follow the commandments that I will be guided through that challenge even if the path may be long and difficult. It is also wonderful to have that peace that the Holy Ghost can provide when you are receiving revelation of the truthfulness of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my callings at church. I am part of my wards New Member Committee and am responsible for introducing people who are new to my ward to our leaders as well as others in the ward. I really enjoy being able to meet these new people and get to know them and what they love to do. I have also taught classes for people new to the LDS faith and to those investigating the LDS religion to teach the basics of what we believe and the gifts that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have given to us. I also love to live my faith through my daily life with how I approach challenges in my life and how I treat those around me. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus love all of us no matter what mistakes we may have made or the choices that we have made and I believe that we must live our lives showing one another that same love.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

John
A testimony is something that each individual person can gain through the Holy Ghost through study, prayer and personal experience. A testimony tells of a persons knowledge of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. A testimony grows throughout a persons life and constantly changes and evolves.
