Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in the sunshine of Vista, CA, was home schooled, enjoy the outdoors, and I love to learn. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a cozy large family with five other siblings. I enjoyed spending time with my crazy and funny family. Musically I participated in many musicals and plays with other homeschoolers, enjoyed singing in choirs, and play the violin. My whole family is very outdoorsy with plenty of hiking, biking, swimming, camping, and soccer be it sunny or stormy. My two biggest passions are learning and scouting. I have always had a delight in learning new things, majorly the sciences, but no matter what it is, I love to learn. Scouting only helped to fuel my learning and knowledge of God's many creations. I believe that we are all here on the earth to learn and I know that everyday we are given many opportunities to learn something new. Though I enjoy learning about anything, I really love to study the scriptures and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Additional hobbies include cooking, swing dancing, calligraphy, American Sign Language, Physics, Chemistry, Astronomy, and drawing. Currently I am serving as a missionary in the Missouri Independence Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Having been raised in my faith I have been told "You have only seen your church, you have not tried anything else, how can you know that your church is true?" Though I have been in the Church all my life, I have visited the services of other churches. I had to gain a testimony that this was true for myself and, though I could compare it to others, I learned and know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true by living the principles taught. Knowing that the Church is true means a lot to me. It gives me a solid base that I can always rely on. I know I can have faith and trust in the leaders of the church because I have tested their words and I have seen them bless my life. I invite all others to do the same, try their words. It is how I came to know that they are true and it is how you too can know that this church is true.

How I live my faith

I am on a two year mission for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints in the Independence Missouri Mission. I have been blessed immensely by the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and the peace it brings to my life. One thing I have found from my love of learning is that if you want to keep what you learn you share it. If I want to keep my knowledge of the gospel and the peace I feel, naturally I will have to share it. I also live my faith by being a friend. I really enjoy spending time with people and especially the people that no one else take to time to talk to/be with. I make it my goal to make everyone feel wanted or included whenever I am participating in a class or group activity, playing a game, or simply around others. Everyone is a child of God and deserves to be treated as such. When I take this perspective my love for them and view of them changes and I want to be their friend. Finally, I try to make living my faith and beliefs a daily thing and not limit it to purely in times of need or on specific days of worship. I try to make my highest priority my Heavenly Father and follow his will. Be it in my friendships, classes, work, or family, I have to ask myself, "Is this what my Heavenly Father would want me to do?" Though it is not always easy, it is worth it and everyday I am blessed as I follow him.
