Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in California. I am a retired Public Works Director and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a Master's Degree in Modern European History and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. I have been a Boy Scout leader on and off since 1987. I am a Certified Water Distribution Operator IV in California and Utah. I am married and have seven children and nine grandchildren. I retired in August, 2014.

Why I am a Mormon

Two Mormon missionaries tracked into me one afternoon and asked me, "Would it change your life much if you knew there was a Prophet of God on the earth?" I said it would and it has. Through prayer, I have come to know that God is real and cares about me; Jesus of Nazareth, the resurrected Christ, is his only begotten son and there is a living Prophet of God on the earth.

How I live my faith

I try each day to help people around me feel their potential to be like the Savior. Throughout my career, I have focused on trying to help my subordinates advance their professional and personal lives. Any Boy Scout can become an Eagle, if his adult leaders challenge him with love. I teach campfire building the same way I teach my nine year old Sunday School class about Moses or Joshua...with love for them and like their life depends on it.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Michael
The only way to know of the truth of anything is to seek the answer by the Holy Spirit through honest, open prayer. I learned of the Savior's love for me personally by seeking to feel it and committing to live it. The faith to receive an answer through prayer comes from our willingness to follow the guidance we receive. The Holy Spirit will only reveal to us, that which we will honestly live. The Holy Spirit has borne witness to me that Jesus is the Christ. Every day of my life, I try to live as he lived, serving my Brothers and Sisters. Show more Show less
