Hi I'm Jacob

I am a Wildland Firefighter. I love wood working and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am 21 years old and I love being outside! I like to do just about anything you can think of outside. Hiking, biking, camping, swimming and all sorts of other things. I like to play soccer and other sports like wrestling, golf and many others. I have had many different jobs but my favorite so far has been Wildland Firefighting. I love hard work! Right now I am serving a mission in the Missouri Independence Mission and it is the hardest work I have ever done, but by far the most rewarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Letter-Day Saints my whole life, but I continue to be a member for one very simple reason, the Church is true! I took it upon myself to read the Book of Mormon and to pray about it with a sincere heart, with real intent and with faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as promised in Moroni ch.10 v.3-5, I got my answer about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the Church. Anytime I am asked " Why are you a Mormon" I think of Peter, in John 6:68 in the New Testament, when Jesus asks "Will ye also go away?". "Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." I have found the words of eternal life through this Restored Gospel and there is no other place I would rather be.

How I live my faith

As a missionary, I am called to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End. I have this special duty for the next 2 years and their is nothing I would rather do. I am always looking for ways to serve my fellow beings in anyway possible. Whether it is helping someone spiritually by teaching the gospel or helping out at a thrift store and food pantry, I know that as I serve my fellow beings, I am serving our Heavenly Father and this brings me joy.
