Hi I'm Debbie

I grew up in California. I'm married and have seven children. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a quilter, master gardener, equestrian and Wood Badge trained Boy Scouter. I have nine grandchildren, with whom I love spending time. I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young adult I spent a lot of time trying to find a church that I felt good about. It wasn't until sometime later that a person I met told me about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was during the very first discussion when the missionaries were telling me about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ being separate beings and having bodies of flesh and bones that the spirit testified that what they were saying was true. I felt the spirit so strongly that I just knew I had come home. I was baptized a short time later and everything that I have learned since that time I have known to be true. I have found the church that I feel good about.

How I live my faith

I have been an Election Judge for many years. I volunteer every week at the local hospital guild. I teach a class of nine year olds in Sunday School. I have worked on different committees with the Quilt Guild in my community and have also taught quilting to women who have expressed a desire to learn. I have made many quilts and given them away anonymously to women who are have found themselves in distress. I regularly visit women and their families in my congregation and my neighborhood and see to their needs and listen to the things they have to say.
