Hi I'm Libbie Poirier

I love piano, I love traveling, I love languages, and I'm a Mormon Missionary!

About Me

I am an adventurer! I am a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I went to school in Hawaii, and I studied International Cultural Studies, and I've been a tutor, a piano teacher, and I love working with kids! I like having fun, and I absolutely love hiking. I've been sky-diving. I went to Haiti, and I want to go back and live there and do humanitarian aid for residents of Haiti and other third world countries. I started a micro-finance program in Haiti, and I want to continue it. I love learning languages. I speak French, Spanish, and I have learned some Latin. I think cultures are the greatest, and when we love and serve others, we learn more about ourselves. Life is beautiful, if you just enjoy it!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a part of this church. This church is my family, this church is my home. I grew up as Catholic, and in 2013, I met the missionaries. The missionaries didn't want to change the faith I had, they just added to it. I grew up with a great foundation of God and Jesus Christ. I have continued in my faith in Jesus Christ, when I decided to convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was hard leaving behind my old habits, and when it came down to it, I had to choose. I had to choose between my own temptations and fears, and between following God and Jesus Christ. I chose to follow God's plan for me and become baptized in Christ's Church. I am a disciple of Christ. I will follow Him anywhere. He is my savior. And I love him. I'm a Mormon, and I couldn't be happier.

How I live my faith

At church, my first calling was a coordinator for young single adult activities. I coordinated a dance, and I made fun activities for people to go to. I made many new friends! Then I was called as a assistant to missionary work. And now, I have one of the greatest callings of being a missionary! That means I help out the people in the community of Arizona and in our church by helping them to set goals and read the scriptures and come closer to Christ. I help others to gain and strengthen their testimonies, and continue and grow their faith in Christ. And as a missionary, I ABSOLUTELY love it. It's the happiest I've ever been.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Libbie Poirier
In the bible, in the book of mormon, and all throughout Church teachings, we are taught to serve and love others! And to love EVERYONE! I love helping people and serving people. I have served for many years with special needs children. I also served in Haiti to help there. I never want to stop serving. Whatever religion, race, ethnicity, or belief that someone has, I will serve them. Jesus Christ loved and served everyone, and I want to be more and more like Jesus Christ everyday and do the same thing. Show more Show less
