Hi I'm Matt Nord

I'm a missionary, I'm a student, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Portland, Oregon and absolutely love the mountains, rain, and the rest of the beautiful Northwest. Watching movies, playing sports, or just kickin' it with the homies have always been great sources of joy for me. I have enjoyed life as a full-time missionary, but now am back at the good old BYU.

Why I am a Mormon

Short and simply put, I am a member of the church because it makes me happy. I have seen how the joy the gospel can bring people and how it changes peoples lives for the better. I receive such comfort in the fact that God loves me both for who I am and who I am trying to become.

How I live my faith

I feel like I am going to be giving a lot of tacky, cliché responses to this question, but it really describes best how I feel. Living the gospel to me is such a daily thing; I cannot count how many times a smile or a kind comment has changed my day. I've always hear the phrase that, "doing is becoming." I try to live my faith by simply doing the things the church teaches us to do. I try to be a friend to someone who is alone or serving other in need.
