Hi I'm Simon Wall

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commonly referred to as Mormon.

About Me

I'm a husband, a father, a Bishop, a son, a Welshman, I run my own business and work in Politics. I live in rural Anglesey in north Wales with my wife and 6 children (oh and 2 dogs). I love where I live and I feel very blessed to have returned to beautiful Wales, to have my huge extended family about me, to have so many good friends and for the opportunity I have to serve. I think I'm an ordinary guy - I love my family life and all the simple things life has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of my faith but this doesn't mean I accepted it automatically. In the words of James Russell Lowell 'Once to every man and nation comes the moment to decide'. Well this was me many years ago. It never ceases to amaze me that every person can approach God in prayer and find answers to life's great (and small) questions. Although I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I had to find my own answers and test my own faith, not once but ongoing through out my life. For me family is (almost) everything. Having a belief and an understanding of what life's purpose is and what awaits us when we leave this life is one of the most important and fundamental things in my life. It is a huge source of comfort, direction and motivation for me to know that families really can be 'together forever'. There really is more to life than life.

How I live my faith

People often ask me what is a mormon? what do you believe? I like to keep things simple. I believe in a God who loves us, who knows us, who has a plan and a purpose for us as individuals, as families and as a people. I believe in a God who is a father, approachable and willing to answer us. I believe that His Son, Jesus Christ is central to that plan. That He, through his life, example and sacrifice has made it possible for me and my family to find peace, purpose, direction, guidance and happiness. As a father and as a husband, together with my wife we are privileged to raise our children within our faith. As a Bishop I have had the opportunity to work with and serve among many members of this congregation and community. My mandate is to help the poor and the needy and to minister to our members in many ways. With good people by my side who also serve willingly and voluntarily in a wide variety of capacities, I have seen peoples lives transformed, heavy hearts lifted, burdens lightened, peace and purpose found and life's questions answered.
