Hi I'm Seneca Heilesen

I'm a 16-year-old, a student, a musician, an avid reader, an older sister, and a friend to all I meet. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I play the piano and organ, and I've sung in choirs at my various schools for 6 years. I also enjoy acting, especially musical theater. Reading is my passion, and I enjoy all types of books. I'm a straight-A student. I love spending time with my family and friends. I love taking opportunities to serve other people, and I am quickly becoming interested in geneaology work!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have a firm testimony of the truth of this Church. I received it through personal revelation after determined study and prayer. Although I was born into the church, for a long time I took it for granted. I relied on my parents' testimonies. As I got older, I wanted to know for myself. I could see that if I didn't gain a testimony of the gospel, I could easily fall away. I wanted the blessings of the gospel to be a part of my life. When I was about to turn 12, I still hadn't read the Book of Mormon on my own. My dad challenged me to read it all in just a few months. I wasn't sure I could do it...but I did! The experience of reading that book on my own and praying to know if it was true changed my perspective on the church. I was determined to gain a testimony of all aspects of the gospel and to share the joy that I had found with others. As I continue to live the gospel, I can see how I am richly blessed. I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that this is the true church of Jesus Christ that He restored upon the Earth in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by showing love and kindness to all those around me every day. At church, I serve as secretary of the 16-17 year old girls' class for my ward. I enjoy reaching out to all of the girls and developing bonds of friendship with them. I try to be a good example to others and always stand up for my beliefs.
