Hi I'm Kristy

I'm a Californian. I'm a wife, a stepmother, a grandmother, a part time office worker, and a homemaker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from college and have worked most of my adult life, 10 years of which I was a travel agent and was able to travel to many interesting places. I especially enjoyed Europe and visited several times by way of cruises and land packages. I married later in life and inherited 4 stepchildren ages 9-16. Their teenage years were challenging for me, as for any parent, but we grew to love each other so much over the years and I really enjoy getting together with them whenever we can. I now have 2 awesome daughters in law and 3 adorable grandchildren. I only see the grandchildren about once a year in person, cuz they live far away, but we cherish the time we do have. I started a tradition with my oldest granddaughter-- we have a Wendy's frosty and fries date, just the two of us, when we do get together. We look forward to that! As the others get older, they will get to join us. I enjoy computer graphics and digital scrapbooking . I am currently putting together a family cookbook which I hope will be ready for Christmas! I have published several fun projects already and hope to be able to make a little business when I retire, out of creating things for others, or teaching them how to do it. My husband and I do a vegetable garden every summer. We plant it together, then I tend it and harvest it and he does the same with the fruit trees and berries. We love all the fresh produce we receive! It's amazing what you can grow in a very small space!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church, and have always loved going to church. I have developed an adult testimony of my own and do not continue to go to church just because it's what I have always done. I go because I want to, because I feel so good when I do, and because I know it is one way I can really feel the love of my Heavenly Father. The principles of the gospel laid out by Jesus Christ tell us the best way to live to really be happy. I learn those as I attend church and read the scriptures. I know I can pray to a loving Heavenly Father who knows me by name and will hear and answer even my simplest prayer. I know that the Holy Ghost brings me personal revelation from my Father to help me make wise decisions in my life and guide me through dark times as I try to live the principles of the gospel. I know I can repent and be forgiven when I mess up, and that the Lord loves me unconditionally, no matter what I do. I know that He is always waiting for me to call on Him for help, or just to share my day with Him. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and my personal Savior. His Atonement and Crucifixion made it possible not only to be resurrected and live again, but to return to the presence of my Heavenly Father. I also know that the heavens are open again and we have a prophet on the earth to lead and guide us by the revelation he receives from Jesus Christ, who restored this church through Joseph Smith many years ago. Recently the church held a semi-annual General Conference where we heard many of our church leaders speak to us. One speaker addressed those who are not members of the church and invited them to "Come and see" what our church has to offer. I too invite you to bring the beliefs and, or desires to believe that you already have, and "Come and see" what great blessings and knowledge the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can bring into your life.

How I live my faith

I have been a Mormon all my life and have a deep and abiding testimony of Jesus Christ and his restored gospel, which is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I enjoy serving in my ward and have had many wonderful experiences working with and serving the members. At present I work with the young girls ages 8-11 helping to provide meaningful activities twice a month to help them learn and grow by learning and living the gospel, developing their talents, serving others and learning to make wise life choices. It has been so much fun, and the girls are the greatest! I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I love it!
