Hi I'm Wendy

I grew up in California. I call rainy Washington my home now. I'm a Mom, an emergency restoration worker and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a wife, sister, mom, daughter and aunt. I love my family. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking and camping. I love animals, especially horses and dogs. I like to sew and embroider. I'm learning to quilt. My husband and I have started a new adventure as business owners of a 24/7 restoration company. I had a previous career as an integrated circuit mask designer but I need to know more about business so off to school I go. I attend BYU-I online through the Pathway program. Returning to school is challenging and rewarding at the same time. I am busy!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the LDS church. I fell away at age 16. I spent many years in search of happiness only to find that everything the world had to offer was counterfeit. I finally hit bottom and had to figure out how to get happy again. As I reflected on my life, the happiest times for me were spent with my immediate and extended family. Having family get-togethers and attending church. I made a few failed attempts to return but allowed myself to become distracted. When I was 29 I was finally committed to living the gospel . I read the Book of Mormon through for the first time in my life and found peace, love, forgiveness and understanding of the true gospel of Jesus Christ. As got on my knees and poured out my hear to my Heavenly Father I felt his love envelope me just as surely as if there wer Human arms holding me. I was able to give up bad habits I'd picked up along the way without a second thought and prepare my self to make and keep sacred covenants. I married in the temple at 32. I wasn't sure if I would ever be able to have children due to fertility issues. While my husband was out of town I was very ill and asked my home teacher for a priesthood blessing. He blessed me that I would recover from my illness and the baby I was carrying would be safe and healthy. I was quite surprised at that blessing because I was certain I wasn't pregnant. Turns out I was! I have a wonderful husband of 23 years and four beautiful children. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and knows my name. He is aware of each of us and desires to bless us all. We just have to let him in.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily by showing kindness to all with whom I come in contact. I choose to love everyone because I know what it's like to walk a mile in some very awkward shoes. I have the great blessing of serving in the Primary as the chorister. There is nothing more beautiful than the sweet voices of children singing. The songs I share with the children teach the gospel in it's simplest form and brings it straight to the heart through music. They are lessons that remain forever whether you know it or not. I also visit teach three sisters in my ward, each very different and all have different needs. I am grateful to be able to be God's hands in lifting and supporting these sisters in good times and bad. As I listen to the Spirit I am better able to love and meet those sisters needs. The restoration business my husband and I own is another way to serve others. We come into peoples lives at some of their worst moments. Homes are wet and precious belongings are damaged or destroyed. We help get their lives back to normal as best we can.
