Hi I'm Kate Dixon

I'm 21, I am a Cancer Nurse and I live in the South of England.

About Me

I love to play the piano, I love singing and I feel music is a massive part of my life. I have two siblings and we were all raised by my mum (an earthly angel). My mother is a community nurse and so nursing has always been part of my life. I have always wanted to do a job which includes me leaving a lasting impression on someone. I considered Teaching, Acting and Midwifery but Nursing just felt right. Why cancer? Why choose to nurse such a hard group of patients? Since I started my training I knew Palliative care was something that just stood out to me and actually I found... I am pretty good at it.

Why I am a Mormon

This is the most simplistic yet challenging questions I get asked. Why? Why this faith? Why this section of Christianity? Well, the honest answer is... I have had experience which has left me with feelings that I cannot deny. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just makes sense. It works, it is logical, it is current, it is all based of principles which I believe are fundamental in this life, it protects me, it motivates me, it makes me want to be and achieve the best. Why wouldn't I want to be a Mormon? Why wouldn't I want to fufil my potential?

How I live my faith

I teach 8-9 year old's on a Sunday morning about Jesus Christ and God. At times it is difficult but I wouldn't want to do anything better with my time. I also teach 3-12 year old's music time... this includes learning new songs, learning actions to our favourite songs and mostly just enjoying what we sing. I love being part of my ward choir and it is a pleasure to have the opportunity to worship Heavenly Father through music. I love Visiting Teaching, I love having assignments which gives me the chance to meet new people or get to know other people in my area better. I have also been part of a National YSA Choir who performed last Easter a production of Rob Gardner's Lamb of God. I do a lot if church related to music, children and serving.. but I love it.
