Hi I'm Marissa

I'm a Colorado grown girl about to spend the best year and a half of my life serving the Lord in Houston, Texas. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am nineteen years old and I am from Colorado. I really enjoy playing sports, such as tennis and volleyball. I also really enjoy playing the piano. I went to BYU-Idaho for one year, but am about to serve a mission in the Texas Houston South Mission and could not be more excited! :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this is the Lord's true church on this earth today. I know there are many other churches out there that have a lot of truth, but I know that through the restoration that the LDS church has the whole truth. It has brought so much clarity and comfort to my life through all of the trials that I have been through. I know that the Lord knows each and every one of us and everything that we are going through. I know that He sacrificed His son so that Christ could come to earth and take part in the Atonement. In doing this, Christ provided the way for us to return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father after this life. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is there to help guide us in these times today. I am so grateful for the opportunity that we have to have a living prophet on this earth today and that, through him, we are able to hear God's council and warnings that He wants us to hear.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching the 7 and 8 year olds in my ward. For about an hour every Sunday this summer, I have had the opportunity to teach these children about our values and beliefs. In doing this, I have been able to see them really gain knowledge and their own testimonies of these beliefs. I live my faith by helping others to grow theirs.
