Hi I'm Courtney

I'm half Samoan and Maori. I play football and rugby, I love my family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a rugby and football player In Arizona. I moved from Utah and it was really hard to move to Arizona in the middle of high school because I moved away from my friends and family in Utah. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to do because I had to leave all of my fun times with my family and friends behind. I was really struggling with the move and I felt really down. I put the Lord first in my life and he blessed me so much by comforting me, by giving me more opportunities to meet new people, make more friends, and giving me a chance to play college football and more importantly strengthening my testimony and faith and guiding me down the right path. Now I'm going to serve a two year LDS mission in Arcadia California. I love music, singing and playing the Ukelele, playing sports and going camping. I have three brothers (one of them is serving a mission in Apia, Samoa) and I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love it. I chose to live and dedicate my life to the lord and my family. My family raised me in the LDS church and it has been the most important thing in my life. It has brought me so much joy and happiness. I always feel comforted when I go to church, pray and read the Book of Mormon, especially when I am having trials in my life and I need to feel peace. I am grateful that I know where I can turn to feel peace.

How I live my faith

I have always tried to live my life clean and tried to obey God's commandments because it made me feel good inside. At school I always tried hard to live my beliefs and values. I was the only member of my church on my High school football team. They would always try to make me do things that I did not feel was right but I tried to be the best example to them by telling them no and why I thought it wasn't good, they always respected me for that. My friends said it would've been disappointing if they saw me make these decisions. I like to visit the elderly with my family and serve them. It makes me happy to see them happy. I go visit the people at our church to make sure that their needs are met and also to show that I really care about them because I really do love them. I am going to serve a two year mission in the Arcadia California mission Spanish speaking. I am so excited to serve and let everyone know how much I love Jesus Christ. I am going to try my hardest to be the best missionary I can be, and to work hard. This will bring me great joy to see others find true happiness.

What is faith?

Courtney
Faith is believing or having hope in something that you can not see. If it is true it brings a feeling inside that feels good, that good feeling helps you to know that it is there. That feeling is testifying to you that it is true. I have that feeling when I read the Book of Mormon and pray about its truthfulness. You can too if you read the Book of Mormon and pray with a sincere heart if what you are reading is true. Show more Show less
