Hi I'm Lisa

I began life in California. I adore my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love growing vegetables, landscaping, ping pong, a good laugh, sewing, walking, warm weather, a variety of music genres, reading the classics, snowboarding, and family. I'm learning how to play piano. I'm a wife, mother and grandmother.

Why I am a Mormon

I didn't grow up in a strong Mormon family so when I was a teenager I sought for understanding about God in different faiths. I found people of these faiths to be happy, kind and sincere, but there was something missing. I just didn't FEEL quite right about their beliefs. When I got married and began having children I knew I wanted to give these precious souls something they could hold on to in trials, in making decisions, in good times, in their everyday struggles. Though, I had never really prayed before, in a difficult time in my life, I prayed to a God I really didn't know, hoping He'd be there, listening to me pour my heart out to Him. I FELT the most peaceful, loving, comforting feeling come over me. I KNEW God was real! During that time in my life people from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were visiting me and teaching me about the gospel of Jesus Christ; a gospel of faith, repentance, prophets, and so much more. After that night on my knees I knew I needed to make a change and fully embrace this gospel. I also asked for the full-time missionaries to teach me. It wasn't easy at first to change my life, but in my study of the Book of Mormon, learning about Jesus and following His example, I began to understanding my purpose here on earth, and where I'm going after this life and why it is so important to exercise my faith to do all I can to follow Him. How grateful I am for the army of angels He sent me to help me come unto Christ and experience real happiness!

How I live my faith

I have mostly been a teacher of youth in my church. I've had the opportunity to help teachers teach more effectively. I love visiting the women in our area and trying to help meet their needs, become friends, and share life with one another, and just bring some joy into their lives. I have been in leadership positions for many years, but I've also taught little children in the nursery. I sing in the choir and on occasion have lead the music in our meetings.
