Hi I'm Cordell

I grew up in a small town called Weiser Idaho. I'm a national merit scholar. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy playing basketball, reading, and games. My favorite video game series is the Legend of Zelda series. My favorite non-video game is the card game "Magic: The Gathering". I enjoy the Doctor Who and Sherlock tv series. I'm an Eagle Scout. I've been in both band and choir since fifth grade. i sing tenor, and I play the trombone. I've been paragliding before, and loved it. I plan on going to college to study nuclear engineering.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon first and foremost because it makes sense to me. I'm a very logical, organized thinker and the church system, both physically here on earth and the teachings of life after earth, all come across to me as the plan of a very loving and infinitely wise Lord and Creator. My testimony first came to me through my head, and it was later confirmed to me through my heart. In times of trial or confusion, my faith in the Lord and His Church have been a constant companion that I can always fall back on. I can honestly say that the Church is the foundation upon which the rest of my life has been built, and it has been a sure foundation for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my actions and my words. I keep my language clean and try to always show respect in my actions. I go to service projects our ward organizes, as well as trying to do small acts of service throughout the day. I home teach three different families, where my home teaching companion and I go to their houses once a month to make sure that everything is going well, to share a small spiritual lesson, and to offer service or assistance where possible.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Cordell
The way this question was first answered to me seemed to fit it very well, and so I'll share it here. Imagine that you have a beautiful, perfectly baked pan of brownies(or whatever your favorite food is, if you so desire to change it). You know that they're delicious, and that they will make you happy. Then you remember that your neighbors have never tried brownies, maybe have never even heard of them. That desire to share the wonder you possess, the prompting to invite others to experience what you have, is just like the gospel. Missionaries, having in their possession the knowledge of the gospel, and knowing its capacity to bring joy to others, desire to go out and share it so that all may know the joy that they feel. That desire to share is the reason that missionaries proselyte. Show more Show less
