Hi I'm Jake

I'm a missionary. I love to snowboard. I love to teach. I love to talk. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Idaho and Utah. I love the mountains, and would spend most of my time snowboarding if I could! I love teaching, and I love people. I am really, really, really good at talking. I play any sport I can, and like to stay active. I am serving as a missionary in the Missouri Independence Mission, and I love it! I am the 3rd of 6 kids, am very sarcastic, and love movies. I attended Utah Valley University, and am planning on being an optometrist.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church, I attended all of my meetings, and participated in activities such as seminary, and young mens. Yet when I got out of High School I felt lost, alone, sad and had no direction. I realize now that at that up until that point in my life I had "piggy backed" on the testimony of my parents and those around me. I am so grateful for all the wonderful people that didn't give up on me, who showed for great examples, me encouraged me to gain a strong foundation and footing for myself. As I did so through simple scripture study, prayer and church attendance, the direction, purpose, happiness and peace that I truly desired entered into my life. I had found the Pearl of Great Price, and I wasn't letting it go. I then found myself having a strong desire to help others find the same Joy that I had found. And so I chose to serve a mission. When I was called to serve in the Missouri Independence Mission, I wasn't sure that I could do it, I didn't know if I could fulfill my purpose. But the Lord is so loving and merciful that he has blessed me with all things that I need, and has given me this great opportunity to learn and to grow! Now that I am a missionary I get to see lives just like mine changed everyday, my foundation/ testimony is strengthened and solidified. I have purpose, because I have come to know who I am, and have the ultimate potential to become. I have gained a love for my Savior and His atoning sacrifice for each of us. I try everyday to see others as He see's them, and I grow in love and direction everyday! I know that if this sort of experience, nothing short of a miracle, can happen to me, then it can happen to anyone who sincerely desires this true Joy in their lives. It all comes down to seeing ourselves as loved children of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday by sharing what I know to be true with all those around me. I share the love I have for others, and teach others how they can feel of their Heavenly Fathers love. I invite all people to learn of him, to feel of the Peace and Joy that comes into their lives. I didn't always have a testimony of the Gospel, or even know my Savior, but now I do, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for Him. I am living my faith as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This has been the most important decision I have ever made in my life, and it has changed me. Everyday I get to witness miracles occurring in my life, and most importantly in the lives of others. The Gospel is the only thing that has helped me, and I know it can help all people. I have learned the Gospel, I live the Gospel, I love the Gospel, and now I have the great opportunity to teach the Gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
