Hi I'm Laura

My favorite title is Mom. I have been blessed to work at home, raising six amazing children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy baking and gardening. I love playing piano and singing in choirs. I am currently working on a music degree.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up learning about and living the gospel and experiencing the joy it brought to my life and the lives of others. The Spirit led me to study the Bible and Book of Mormon on my own and to pray to know God's truth. I felt God's love in His words, in my life as I followed them, and through those who served Him in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When I strayed, I felt that same Spirit and love draw me back to my Savior who atoned for my sins and took my sorrow and guilt away. It is through the Spirit that I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. My testimony of this is strengthened by my knowledge that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ and translated the "Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ" by God's instruction and power. In the name of Jesus Christ I testify that He leads this Church today through a living prophet whose words reflect God's love and draw me nearer to Him as I apply them in practical ways in my daily life.

How I live my faith

I am blessed with the opportunity to lead discussions about the scriptures with several youth during the week. Not only does it help them to feel the Lord's love and to apply the gospel in their daily lives, but it invites His Spirit into my own life and helps me remember my Savior Jesus Christ. On occasion I also do piano accompanying for and sing in my church and community choirs.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

I know I can be with my family forever in God's presence because of the sacred temple sealing ordinance. If my husband and I are faithful to our covenants, God has promised that we will be together for time and all eternity. This knowledge through the Spirit I've experienced in the temple brings me comfort and joy and explains the eternal nature of the family supported by God's act of ordaining marriage and establishing the family as the center of His plan and society from the time of Adam. The power in this sacred covenant makes a huge difference in our personal and family life as we strive together to serve the Lord, overcome our differences and build relationships that were intended to be eternal.
