Hi I'm Austin

I have lived in several places, I'm a musician, I like to garden, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family has moved a lot throughout my life. I have lived in Arizona, Nebraska, the Philippines, Utah, Texas, and Ohio. But everywhere I've lived, I always went to church. I was raised with the gospel in my family, and it has blessed our lives in so many ways seen and unseen. Alongside being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have nourished a love for music. I began playing the guitar when I was 9, singing in choirs when I was 14, and playing the piano when I was 15. From my experience, good and uplifting music is one of the best ways to invite the Spirit, strengthen testimonies, and praise God. I have also grown an interest in gardening and plant-life. God has created so many beautiful plants, and it amazes me that something so small as one seed can grow into a giant tree which produces many seeds.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up as a member of the church, and all along it has been a conversion process. It continues to be as my faith and testimony grow. My parents have always supported their children in doing the right thing and learning to come closer to Jesus Christ. Mainly, my knowledge of the restored gospel on the Earth today has come from living it, especially from service and the scriptures. The scriptures and serving others have been an ongoing source of knowledge and testimony in my life. They have taught me truths which have become a part of who I am. The Word of God from the scriptures and a living prophet and apostles in these, the latter days, enable me to "feast upon the words of Christ; for behold, the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do." (2 Nephi 32:3)

How I live my faith

Before becoming a missionary, I loved being in the young men's youth group and in boy scouts, with many opportunities to serve people of different faiths. I also did service as a member of the National Honors Society in high school. But now I have the great privilege and experience to serve full-time for the Lord as a missionary!

What is the Book of Mormon?

Austin
The Book of Mormon is the Word of God for His children, just like the Bible. The Book of Mormon and the Bible go hand-in-hand to witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior. The Bible is a record of God's dealings with His children in the Old World, which was written by ancient prophets like Moses, Abraham, Isaiah, and others. The Book of Mormon is a record of God's dealings with His children in the Americas, written by ancient prophets of those people, around the same time the Bible was being written. The Book of Mormon is named after Mormon, who was one of the last prophets to record and write in it. We can know if the Book of Mormon is true for ourselves if we sincerely ask God in prayer, seeking to know from Him, (see Moroni 10:4-5) Show more Show less
