Hi I'm Ellis

I live in Emgland, I'm a sushi chef, future missionary! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in a family business, we own a oriental supermarket and have recently opened a cafe/restaurant within the supermarket. It is a good business but we are not rich, our business allows us to help others. I have a mother, father, sister, and brother, my brother is currently serving a mission in the Australia, Brisbane mission, assigned to speak in the Chinese language. He is such an amazing example in my life and has helped me with my own mission preparation. I am waiting to leave on my own mission, I have been assigned to labour in the Utah Ogden mission speaking English! I'm so excited to serve The Lord! So as I said I am a sushi chef, I love food! I'm healthy and I'm not fat but I'm at the stage in my life when I can eat anything and it won't effect me at all! Which I am taking advantage of basically every moment I can! I also have a car! Honda Jazz! I love driving!

Why I am a Mormon

So if you ha bothered to read all o the previous you may be thinking as a none member that I'm very oblivious to the world and I live a Mormon bubble, that is not true and my life wasn't always this good. I had a time where I was depressed and quickly slipped into doing the 'normal' things of the world. At this time my life was only a short term pleasure exercise to satisfy my body rather than my spirit, I wasn't truly happy, I've grown up as a Mormon but I always had a part of me that needed a proper testimony that would show me that yes this is right! But it never came so I decided it would be better to see if the other side of life was any good because up till this point all I'd known was church. To me it was boring, this Change happened when I was about 15 and lasted till I was 18. Last year is when I realised that I needed to change. My friend who is now a member of the stake presidency signed me up without me knowing to a missionary weekend where I would join about 50 other boys and girls and we would live as missionaries and taught and have opportunities to teach one another. On the very last day I member of the seventy gave us a talk and in the talk he chastised us about life and the things we should be doing and the things we should not be doing. I felt a feeling inside of my heart that shouted at me and shook me and said you need to change! I felt in that moment that Heavenly Father was telling me that I had a bigger purpose that going out and doing things that don't agree with his standards. He opened my eyes to the bigger picture and gave me the push I needed to change. It wasn't a extraordinary experience with light and two people coming to me and angels round me. It was a small, personal, beautiful experience that I will never forget. I am so grateful for the people in my life and for the way the teach me and show me how I should live. I am a Mormon. I know it. I live it and I love it.

How I live my faith

I have recently been released as a primary teacher, I taught for over a year and had up to 11 children aged 4-7, it was very interesting sometimes... Needless to say I used sweets a lot! I loved teaching them! It helped to remind me the simple essence of the gospel. Children have such sweet spirits and innocent and simple thoughts. The best thing is that they don't over complicate the gospel like some adults do these days! I have 2 new callings, I am a family history consultant and a young single adult representative in my ward which is funny considering I'm not single ;) My father is the bishop of our ward. My mother is also a primary teacher and my sister is a young women's counsellor. I find the best way to 'live my faith' is just to serve others. 'When you are in the service if your fellow me you are in the service of your god.' Heavenly Father has given us everything we have and we can never repay him for everything he has done, but we can show our appreciation, this is how I show my appreciation, I serve. This is one of the reasons I am going to a mission. How can I keep this gospel to myself when I know how good it feels to please Heavenly Father and how much it has blessed my life!
