Hi I'm Gavin

I'm from the USA. I'm a two sport athlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I played basketball and football in high school. I graduated recently and am preparing to go on a two year mission for my church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I like to read, hike, play sports, watch movies, and spend time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have chosen for myself to be baptized and remain a member of this church. I know that this church is true. I am so happy as I follow the teachings of Christ. I know that Joseph Smith really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God. I know that God lives and loves us all. Being a member of this church and following the teachings of the prophets that God has called brings me so much happiness. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I've been involved in scouting for many years and have completed my own and helped other scouts with various community service projects. I have had responsibilities in my church ranging from leadership in the youth organizations, teaching families in my ward, and being a secretary. I will live my faith by serving a mission. I will leave home and devote myself to sharing with others what I know to be true for two years.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Pray about it. Ask Heavenly Father to know if it is true. Definitely read the book of Mormon and talk to the missionaries about the church. Learn as much as you can, follow the commandments, and pray. Pay close attention to your feelings and thoughts. Good feelings like love, happiness, or peace are ways the Holy Ghost tells you that what you are reading and learning is true. Show more Show less
