Hi I'm Makalah

I grew up in West Jordan, Utah. I love to run, play sports, and do outdoor activities with my family and friends! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a runner! I love being outdoors and playing sports. I love spending time with my family and friends. Attending the temple is one of my all time favorite things to do. I try to attend the temple at least once a week. Meeting new people is also something I enjoy doing. I am the oldest of 5 kids in my family, my family isn't LDS. Just me and my sister. I'm leaving soon to serve a mission in the Philippines Quezon City Mission. I am so excited! When I come back, I plan on going to school to become a Physical Therapist or Athletic Trainer. I love this Gospel and the true, never-ending happiness that comes with striving to live righteously, using the atonement of Jesus Christ every day, and following the Commandments. I'm so thankful for the plan Heavenly Father has for each of us, I know that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I'm so thankful for that knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

I wanted to be truly happy, not just feel temporary satisfaction and in the end doesn't bring happiness, just guilt. This life here on earth isn't easy. I was lost just trying to see what would bring me happiness and peace into my life. I tried many different things. I was challenged in my seminary class to read the Book of Mormon. Cover to cover. As I did this, I prayed to know if it was true, to know if Joseph Smith really restored this gospel, if he really translated the plates, if he really saw Heavenly Father and his son. By reading and studying the Word of God, it had changed my life. I had a change of heart. I began to pray and to read daily, by doing so I received guidance and strength through each day and trial. I came to know for myself that these things are true. I am a Mormon because I know the Book of Mormon is true and the word of God. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his beloved son, Jesus Christ. I know he restored the only true gospel on the Earth today, in this last dispensation. I know Heavenly Father loves each of us so much, he has prepared a plan and path for us. We just have to come unto him in prayer, and he will guide and prepare a way for us. He sent his son, Jesus Christ to atone for the sins of the world. Through the atonement of Jesus Christ, we can be cleansed, given strength, and one day be able to dwell in the presences of God. I know Thomas S. Monson is the living Prophet and he is the seer and revelator of the Church today. His words come from what God would want us to hear and do. I love the Holy Temples and I'm so thankful to live so close to plenty of them, I love the peace and comfort I feel as I dwell on the temple grounds. I'm so thankful to know that families can be together forever. I know the Holy Ghost really does guide, protect, and prompt me for different things in my life. I love this gospel and I know that living obedient to it will bring blessings.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others. I have served in Church callings by helping organize and plan events for my ward and by inviting others to come or come back to church. I also live my faith by trying my best to be my very best by following the Savior, Jesus Christ and his perfect attributes.
