Hi I'm Jamie Blake Jackson

I grew up in the US. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. I have a college degree in Family Science. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother. I have a BS degree in Family Science. I have served a mission for the LDS (Mormon) Church, to Santa Rosa, CA. I have travelled and moved with my husband and family as our employment has changed over the years. I am a musician, and I am an athlete. Tennis is my catnip! I am an artist, and love to create. I enjoy my children immensely! They fill me up.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church. That is not why I remain a member of it. I am a member of it because I have seen the sacrifices and service of both of my parents, in the church and also in the community. I have seen miracles occur. I have seen the changes it makes in the lives of it's members for good. I have seen the softening of years of resentments, bad habits, and addictions in those close to me. We are human too. But we ALL need Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a healing balm to every hurt. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - a "Mormon"- because at a young age, I read the Bible, and the Book of Mormon, and felt my spirit change. A light echoed in my soul, and I knew that God knew me, and that He loved me. I asked God if this was His gospel on the earth, and I got an answer of peace of joy. This deep peace and joy have grounded me and kept me through challenges to my faith. "For every tree is known by his own fruit..." (Luke 6:44) I know that God knows and loves each person - nobody is a "mistake". We are His, and He wants ALL of us.

How I live my faith

I am raising several AMAZING kids - if I do say so myself! I have volunteered for many years in my children's schools with reading, and spelling, and have assisted in piano accompaniment for their programs. I have served an 18 month mission in Santa Rosa, CA for my church. I have spoken to congregations in church, completed achievement programs, and learned new skills. I have played volleyball, softball, and basketball on church teams. I have worked with the youth in our church, played the piano and organ for years in church, organized and led the church choir and music programs, and taught Sunday school for many years. Currently, I am serving in the capacity of president of our church's local women's group. I've even coached the church's youth girl's basketball team. I have had to grow into each of these areas of service. I love living my testimony of Jesus Christ. I believe that he expects us to develop and use our talents in the service of others, and to be joyful in the doing of it. "Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." as it says in Isaiah 12:3.
