Hi I'm Jake Brown

I have lived in St. George, Utah all my life. I will be serving a mission in Londrina Brazil. That's because I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm still a kid at heart. I enjoy building with Legos, playing Pokemon, and reading just about any novel I can find. I ran on my high school cross country team, though I wasn't as fast as I would have liked to be. I also participated in my high school's band program, and immensely enjoyed cheering for our football team as a member of the pep band. I was devastated when our football team lost to our biggest rivals at state my senior year.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been blessed to live in a city where there are many Mormons. My friends are all great examples to me and have strong testimonies and faith. My parents have helped me to know right from wrong and have taught me so much about hard work and integrity. I know that the values of the church I have grown up with will help me in my future endeavors, especially after hearing the many amazing stories and testimonies of my neighbors, family and friends.

How I live my faith

I serve as a ward missionary. My calling is to help the full time missionaries find people to teach our religion to and to help those people find faith in Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. This calling was given to me to help me prepare for my full-time mission, which I will serve in Brazil starting this November. Another calling I have had for a few years is hometeaching. My hometeaching partner and I go to several neighbors assigned to us and make sure they have everything they need and help them out when there are big projects they need done around their homes.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Jake Brown
Our purpose in this life is to prepare ourselves to be more like our Father in Heaven. He sent us here to gain physical bodies and to use our agency. He has given us the freedom to choose between right and wrong, and wishes us to succeed in all we do. Our eternal life and happiness depends on us following His commandments and making families that we can take with us back to His presence. I know I have that chance and hope I will be able to fulfill my callings on this earth to the best of my abilities. Show more Show less
