Hi I'm Morgan Young

Grew up the daughter of a U.S. Marine and moved around the world. I live in the world of sports; day in and day out. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am nineteen years old and am the oldest of four children. I grew up a "military brat" and have never stayed in one area longer than four years. I loved moving around the world, discovering new places and new people. From the age of four I started playing soccer. Soccer is my passion. Eat, Breathe, Sleep, Soccer. I atteneded Southern Virginia University, where I was fournate to play for the univeristy's soccer and softball teams. Now, I am about to embark on a journey to Belgium and the Netherlands in serving a fill-time eighteen month mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have always loved going to church and participating in activities. My whole life I have lived in areas where the church was small, the number of Mormons were small and few. I was baptized when I was eight years old in the Nishiki River, Iwakuni, Japan. I made the decision at eight to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I was taught by my parents the principles of the Gospel, but it was my own desire to be baptized. I was eight, I still had a whole life of trials, tests, mistakes, and achievements ahead of me. Yet, I made a courageous step forward in my journey home to my Heavenly Father. Moving so often and meeting such variety of people and culture, I have always had to stand tall and defend my beliefs. I may have not fully understood every aspect and teaching of the Gospel, but the testimony I had and continue to have is strong enough that I need not question, that I will fight against anything, and proclaim the truthfulness of this church. To this day I do not know everything, but I continually am converted to the Gospel on a daily basis. The Church of Jesus Christ is the one sure and constant source of love, hope, strength, comfort, and everlasting happiness. To the world I am nothing special, but to my Heavenly Father I am everything. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am and have been a Sunday School teacher for a year and a half. I have taught Gospel Doctrine and Gospel Principles. I love preparing lessons, reading and studying the material that is to be taught. There is a spirit that comes when you take the time to study out for yourself the things which the Lord has provided. I lose myself in the word of God and can spend hours in the scriptures and talks from living prophets. There is a sense of peace and comfort, you can feel the embracing arms of our loving Heavenly Father as you seek after Him. As I am the oldest in the family, I strive to be an example to my siblings. I am far from perfect, but I know that by overcoming the things that bring me down I can help and lift up my brother and sisters. The home and family is the most important unit on Earth and so essential to our Heavenly Father's plan. They are the foundation. And it is through them that we build our faith.
