Hi I'm Abby

I'm a licensed EMT, a clarinet player, and soon to be a missionary in Montevideo, Uruguay. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really love music! I was the principal clarinetist in the Utah Youth Symphony in high school and was in All State Band for two years. I also love helping people. After high school I became an EMT so that I could have the skills necessary to be an asset to those around me in case of any emergencies. I just finished my first year of college and I am about to leave on an 18 month mission to Montevideo Uruguay.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and as I child it was always enough for me to just accept that my parent new the church was true. I trusted their faith. As I got older though I realized that I needed to know for myself. I decided to read the Book of Mormon because it is the foundation of the LDS church. I read the book over the course of several months. Towards the end of it the reader is invited to pray and ask is it is true. I was at a youth camp at the time and went back to the cabin alone to accept the invitation and pray. As I prayed asking whether the book I had just read was true a feeling of immense peace came to me and I knew that The Book of Mormon was truly another Testament of Jesus Christ. Because of this I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who truly translated that ancient record. I know that there is a prophet on this earth today and I know that Jesus Christ came to the Americas after his death to spread his message. This knowledge is so important to my life because it helps me to know that no matter what happens: what mistakes I make, what trials I go through, anything, I can always find guidance and love in Christ and his church.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by leaving my family and friends for 18 months and going on a mission. I will be working full time in another country and learning a new language to try to help people learn about Christ. I know that Christ wants everyone to be able to learn about his gospel which is why I am going to Uruguay to teach people.
